Project Goals
Urban Uplift is a print magazine dedicated to showcasing revitalized architecture around the world, emphasizing how neglected urban spaces can be transformed into vibrant, functional environments. The project’s goal was to celebrate design as a catalyst for community connection, cultural renewal, and sustainable reuse. Through clean typography, grid-based layouts, and an earthy palette, the magazine mirrors the balance of aesthetics and purpose found in successful architectural revitalization, while to reimagine overlooked places.
Process & Solution
Urban Uplift was developed through a research-driven and content-focused design process. I began by studying revitalized architectural projects worldwide, analyzing their cultural impact, material choices, and community function. I then curated three feature articles centered on reimagined spaces beneath highway overpasses. Photography, typography, and grid systems were intentionally selected to support each narrative, ensuring the magazine visually echoed themes of renewal, functionality, and communal connection while maintaining clarity, cohesion, and respect for architectural storytelling principles.
